# The fourth dimension is not time, but why?

Being three-dimensional creatures, we can’t totally understand the 4th dimension but what we can do is render 4d objects in our three-dimensional space.

## Explaining the 4th dimension

### What is the 4th dimension?

Four-dimensional space is a mathematical extension of the concept of three-dimensional or 3D space. Three-dimensional space is the simplest possible abstraction of the observation that one only needs three numbers, called dimensions, to describe the sizes or locations of objects in the everyday world.

There’s a simple equation that will help us to travel the world of four-dimensional space. Just kidding, we aren’t travelling through the four-dimensional space, for today we are just trying to understand the properties of 4d and it’s relation with time.

The radius of circle in 2d is

(𝑥−ℎ)2+(𝑦−𝑘)2=𝑟2

Similarly, the radius of sphere in 3d is

(𝑥−ℎ)2+(𝑦−𝑘)2+(z−l)2=𝑟2

Finally, we are knowing the 4d, but I don’t know what’s a sphere is called in 4d.

Let’s name it whespere

(a 4d hypersphere).

So, the radius of a whespere in 4d is

(𝑥−ℎ)2+(𝑦−𝑘)2+(z−l)2+(w−m)2=𝑟2

so, the center `(h,k,l,m) = (0,0,0,0)`

(𝑥−0)2+(𝑦−0)2+(z−0)2+(w−0)2=𝑟2
or, 𝑥2+𝑦2+z2+w2=𝑟2
or, w2 = 𝑟2 – (𝑥2+𝑦2+z2)
.:. w = (𝑟2 – (𝑥2+𝑦2+z2))1/2

Now, we have the w-axis in our hand. But what actually is that f**ki*g `w-axis`? Is it the time or anything else?

This explanation sucks, need some simpler and tasty way to understand it.

### Is time the fourth dimension?

Not specifically, ’cause time is not an axis and dimension must consist of the axis. Also, till now we are understanding the second and third dimensions via their axes. The w-axis in the upper equation is the main component of the fourth dimension.

### How existence is related to dimension and dimensional studies?

Lemme explain it in easier ways using some visuals. We will be studying the existence of any object with respect to change in time.

Let’s first understand the term ‘existence’ with the help of the dimensions that we are already familiar with.

### Existence of 0d objects

The existence 0d object is a static-motionless rigidified point. A zero-dimensional object can only exist at a single point, whatever the time is. It is contained within that point.

#### Time, existence and 0d-object

The existence of the 0d-object with respect to change in time is always the same, ’cause there are no possibilities of movability for that 0d-object.

Any 0d object can only exist in a single coordinate at the same period of time without being on any axis.

### Existence of 1d objects

The existence of a 1d object is flexible and dynamic. A one-dimensional object can exist at only one point in a single period of time and the existence can be changed with the change in time. It has movability along an axis. Let’s name it the x-axis. But it’s not allowed to move along the y-axis.

#### Time, existence and 1d-object

The existence of the 1d-object with respect to change in time can be changed along an axis (x-axis). So, it can have a varying existence in a single point with change in the time period.

Any 1d object can only exist in a single coordinate at the same period of time within only one axis (x), which means it can stay in only one location at one period of time and can travel through a straight line.

### Existence of 2d objects

The existence 2d object is also dynamic (i.e. only the 0 dimension has static existence). A second-dimensional object can exist at two different axes in a single period of time and its existence also can be changed with the change in time. It has movability along two axes. Let’s name these two axes the x-axis and y-axis.

#### Time, existence and 2d-object

The existence of the 2d-object with respect to change in time can be changed along two axes (x, y). So, it can have a varying existence along two axes (x, y) with change in the time period.

Any 2d object can only exist in a single coordinate at the same period of time within two axes (x, y), which means it can stay in only one location at one period of time and can travel left-right & up-down.

A second-dimensional object can exist at three different axes on a single co-ordinate in a single period of time and its existence also can be changed with the change in time. It has movability along three axes. Let’s name these two axes the x-axis, y-axis and z-axis.

#### Time, existence and 3d-object

The existence of the 3d-object with respect to change in time can be changed along three axes (x, y, z). So, it can have a varying existence along two axes (x, y, z) with change in the time period.

Any 3d object can exist in single coordinates at the same period of time within three axes (x, y, z), which means it can stay in only one location at one period of time and can travel left-right, up-down & forward-backwards.

This is the conclusion of this whole article, so read it with all your efforts.

4d objects can have their existence in multiple location/places in the same period of time.

I’ve added this image is just to show the existence of a four-dimensional object. I can’t project any 4d object here, ’cause I am 3 dimensional.

Any 4d object can exist in multiple coordinates at the same period of time, within four axes (x, y, z, w), which means it can stay in multiple locations at one period of time and can travel left-right, up-down, forward-backwards & unknown-unknown directions.

Zero dimensional, first-dimensional, second-dimensional and third-dimensional objects can only exist in one place in a single period of time but the fourth-dimensional object can exist at multiple places in one single period of time.

Yet, I don’t know how 4d objects can have their existence in a different location at the same time. Maybe we could figure it out in our next article.

I think I’ve pasted my perspective that how time is essential for fourth-dimensional studies and time is not actually the fourth dimension.

Are angels the member of 4D then, 🤣?  wow this is really great good explanation…keep it up ! Arey. This is interesting. But in physical POV, ruling out time as a 4th dimension is the right thing to do. In my view, time is a completely different thing and is not related to the physicality of the universe. If the objects in 4d can exist anywhere, then can they see anything hidden inside the 3d box? Nice try bro

Hey i would like to add maybe i missed this but there are two types of dimensions there are space and time, time is not a space dimension though Einstein thought that there were only 3 space dimensions and 1 time one meaning time is a fourth dimension but it could be counted as the 1st to this is an important difference to make. from the research that i have done that is limited there seems to be only one time dimension and a zillion(an incomprehensible number) of space dimensions so maybe 4d is not time itself but movement without time’s relevance
